  1. Thanks again, Peter, for sharing some of the highlights of the International Gauge 1 Meeting with your devoted fans. Herr Thomas's subtle approach to patinating the several locos featured is a wonderful example of how "less is more," in the art of patination (or weathering). He is a master at capturing the appearance of a worn and hard worked, yet well maintained locomotive, with many thousands of kilometers on her clock. Herr Thomas certainly has a very deft hand and eye for this craft. His locos are beautiful to behold. Thanks again!

  2. Amazing models that we never see here in UK – here, the vast majority of Gauge 1 model railways are open air and devoid of landscaping – quite a different world from German/Switzerland and so on, where you layouts with buildings, town, landscape. Add to that the heart-breaking cost of most models of this kind, and you can understand the rarity! I do not know ANYBODY here in UK who models German steam in Gauge 1 – the cost is enough to make a grown man cry, for a start! This is probably because the UK has now 75 years of experience of running Gauge 1 models that we have built ourselves, with our own rich history of railways.
