A woman visiting Yellowstone National Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officials mentioned Tuesday.
The 25-year-old girl, who was visiting from Ohio, was not recognized in a information launch from the park.
The girl approached the female bison Monday morning after it came near a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, near Old Trustworthy geyser, the park said.

An estimated 2,300 to 5,500 bison dwell on the park, and they have injured more individuals than some other animal, the park said.
When the visitor got here within 10 ft of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 feet within the air, the park mentioned.
The woman had puncture wounds and different accidents and was taken to a hospital in Idaho, the service mentioned. Her situation was unknown Tuesday.
Two other folks were additionally close to the animal when it gored the woman, the park stated. The release didn’t say in the event that they have been injured.
The park warned folks to remain 25 yards from bison, elk, bighorn sheep and moose and no less than 100 yards from bears and wolves.
