Florida man will get life in jail for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors – WFTV

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met on-line, based on officials.

The U.S. Division of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two completely different occasions in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Courtroom data say he flew forwards and backwards disguising himself as an English teacher.

A number of the boys, based on the DOJ, have been lured with guarantees of money and presents. Others launched him as their English trainer.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Security investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh City. It was part of Challenge Safe Childhood, which was an effort to seek out little one sex abuse started in 2006 by the DOJ.

“The legal guidelines of the United States will still catch as much as baby predators who even journey to overseas international locations to sexually abuse minor children. Thanks to HSI’s international investigative authorities and powerful partnerships, both at HSI Tampa and HSI Ho Chi Minh Metropolis, Vietnam, this sexual predator was stopped from harming extra kids and his victim may have the justice they deserve,” stated HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Cost John Dumas, according to a information release from stated HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Charge John Dumas.

Day pleaded responsible to 2 counts of journey with intent to interact in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of tried coercion and enticement of a minor into unlawful sexual activity, in response to the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in jail.
